Mission:
Opportunities for children to participate in roles that would allow them to utilize God's given talent in capacities that would allow praise and worship and to be true representatives in the community.
Goals & Objectives:
The Goals and Objectives of the Education Department for 2009 are: To offer guidance and support to our youth as they continue their quest for the Lord. To continue to give our youth the opportunity to serve in capacities that would enhance their growth and development, spiritually. Not to forget our youth away in college.
Summary of Past and Present Activities:
Assisting elementary school age children with homework.
On the month with five Sabbaths, Education Department presents a 10 minute power-point presentation on issue in education. For 2009 so far, on 1/31/09 the topic presented was:" How to help children succeed?"
Accomplishments:
Elementary school age children are having their home work done with ease.
Looking Ahead:
Keeping in contact with our youth who are away in college (send care packages, cards, letters etc). Helping our children to gain the knowledge needed to be better equipped as God's representatives. Having our children serve in various departments (platform, Sabbath school, AYS, deacons, deaconess, community service etc. to gain the knowledge and experience.
To continue helping our children with homework, FCAT test preparation, information on scholarship programs for college, role play for job interviews, help in filling out application for financial aid for college.
